Our first cache! We hope it works out well. We made it a kind of mystery hunt but it is pretty straight forward and easy.
We decided to make this a members only on geocaching.com because we felt the environment of the cache suited a lower traffic level than a public cache may produce and would suit the more experienced geocachers rather than the first timers. (what do we know eh? we're almost first timers ourselves). Also of course, we thought it would be good to support geocaching.com in order that their very useful service continues for a long time to come. We know servers and bandwidth can be expensive.
We've put the details here for free though because we don't expect our web site gets that many visits except from fellow geocachers, friends and family
It is best to attempt this at a quiet time of day in daylight and avoid high tide. Start at York House gardens. Easy public transport access by bus or not too far from Twickenham Railway station. Pay and Display car park at start point.
Enter the gardens and head past the tennis courts. Look out for a slightly hidden signpost in the bushes which says "Gokhale XXX" where XXX is the first clue (A). You are heading for N51 26.820 W000 19.405 When you get there, how many steps are there in total? This is the second clue (B).
Now head for N51 26.799 W000 19.445, how many stone women are there here? This is the third clue (C).
Next head on to N51 26.795 W000 19.482 How many permanent sculptures are there here? (Count carefully you can easily miss one of them). This is the final clue (D).
Use your clue results with the formulas below:-
A= Gokhale WHAT? (number of letters minus one (don't include Gokhale)) (single digit number)
B=number of steps + 10 (two digit number)
C=number of stone women multiplied by eleven. (two digit number)
D=number of permanent sculptures (single digit number)
Your final destination is:-
N51 26.DB
W000 19.AC
Point of interest: Look out for the weird garden of action men and dolls.
Don't be afraid, you are allowed there (read and follow any signs carefully), just be quiet and respectful of the surroundings. Keep the cache name in mind as you go.
The cache is not far from a lot of windows and potential activity. Be careful not to reveal its location. It is a small/medium tupperware box clearly marked with geocache sticker. It is crammed full of goodies at the moment.
If you need more clues and photo clues, you'll have to subscribe to geocaching.com, come on, it is only $3 a month (and we don't get paid to say that)
LATEST NEWS:
Our cache was found today. I believe this was a FTF (First To Find) although Belplasca did not mention this on the web log. Certainly they were first to log the find on the official geocaching.com web page for the cache anyway...

This one is brilliant! Yes the co-ordinates are OK - though they do seem to indicate a bit further on than you need to go, but well within tolerance.
"This is an area that is only a few miles from me, but I had never explored it! Of course, I would choose a day when there was a rugby match...
"You might like to be more specific with regards to opening times, and it did feel strange at the final location - which was fascinationg, and certainly not somewhere that I would have found without your cache.
"I liked it so much I awarded it a Jeep TB! :-)
